Not as bad as you think..

When I heard about this movie I thought it was going to be bad for sure not because it was a Bone Thugs-N-Harmoney movie, but because it's NOT a documentary. Once I heard it wasn't a documentary I was disappointed because I wanted some insight into Bone Thugs before they blew up.
With that aside, this movie actually surprised me. I put it on at 1am and it actually kept me up until the end. It started off a bit slow and feels a little bit artificial in the beginning but it picks up. Layzie gives a GREAT performance, followed by Krayzie. Wish, although being one of my favorite Bone Thugs, is just not an actor. Luckily he doesn't get as much screen time.
I was amazed at how well they made this movie work considering the plot is absolutely horrible. This is what makes the movie seem a little far-fetched at first. It's a very predictable plot and there aren't many twists. And yes, Bizzy and Flesh are absent in this movie, not even a mention of their names. Now before people get mad at Bone Thugs remember Bizzy might have asked not to be put in the movie.
Regardless, it was a good 'Menace II Society' type movie considering the lack of those movies today. Although nowhere near as good and as real as those movies back in the day, it was done well overall. It's a must-see for any Bone Thugs-N-Harmoney fan. 7/10.

Mimi Moss & Hassan Johnson shineTried
tedthumb14 September 2008
I Tried is a movie about what if Bone Thugs N Harmony never got discovered by legend Eazy- E from N.W.A? I agree with the poster from Canada that this story would have made a interesting documentary. Some storys do not need to me made up. Bone Thugs N Harmony have one of those storys.
I Tried was entertaining. Mimi Moss is a beautiful and talented actress. Her appearance as Lisa married to Wish Bone was stellar. Wish Bone surprised me with his acting. He seemed like a natural. I enjoyed the story of Lisa and a struggling Wish Bone trying to make it in a tough economy. Many of us can relate that to that nowadays.
Hassan Johnson shined as bad guy drug dealer KP. I've watched this actor on The Wire. He is the real deal. To bad the director did not show more of KP in the movie. KP has a glorified cameo role instead of a meat and potato role. I hope to see more of Wish Bone, Mimi Moss, and Hassan Johnson in other movies. They are to good to not get more movie parts.

All Hassan Johnson!

I Tried is cool little urban joint about what if these rappers weren't discovered by OG Eazy E a man way a head of his place and time in music. It goes in to that type of deal. It is crazy when you watch a movie and see one actor totally crush it. Hassan Johnson is a drug boss that does not play. Director Rich Newey should have beefed up his part major. You don't leave a player like Hassan sitting on the bench. You get him out there to make a big play for ya. I'm with another poster that Hassan and Mimi Moss brought major heat to this joint.
Out of Bone thugs n harmony Wish Bone was best actor going. You can believe that all day and night. Mimi Moss happened to play his wife. I liked his story of being a laborer that had to pick up dead animals. Not feeling it he gets pulled towards the streets again. Don't rent I Tried buy it.

Bone Just Watched

TriedWarning: Spoilers
I Have been a bone thugs fan for around 8 years now and finally got hold of this movie. truthfully, I didn't like it..ending..was pretty awful.. acting..was worse.. I personally think i could have directed/wrote and performed this movie better. it's got some decent songs which bone fans will enjoy, Krayzie puts on a good performance as usual..and Wish, as usual..doesn't shine.. I mean..i wouldn't watch it again. they should have don't a movie about anything else, Maybe the road to their success, the drama they faced getting to where they are today maybe even an 'if we didn't make it' story where they ended up as hood rats or villains or big dope dealers.. just meh. if i wasn't a fan of bone i would have rated this worse.

The money is inferred to be stolen from the store. The other man runs away, while the young man picks up his bag. Consequently, a police officer catches him picking up the bag where the money had been dropped. He runs from the police officer, but the officer eventually arrests him. The officer goes to the store to check with the owner if he had arrested the suspect. The store owner says the young man did not rob the store, and then the officer lets the young man go. The video ends with the man walking away from the store.

The music video was directed by Rich Newey.
